It was my gift for baby Jarrett's first birthday, and Hong said she liked the gift very much. But she lost it in the restroom and we only realised that when we were in the theatre, and WICKED was about to start. I felt bad that Hong was so apologetic over the loss, she kept saying sorry and that she will buy JJ a similar toy.
At the intermission, we ran back to the restroom, and found nothing. There was a note at the entrance of the male toilet saying there is a female janitor washing the toilet and we had hoped it might be the same one who cleaned the female toilet and could have picked up the toy (surely, the atas crowd at MBS will not fancy some kiddy toy!) , but we could not get into the male toilet. We stood outside the male toilet for a good few minutes, to the amusement of the men going in and out of the toilet. No janitor was not in sight.
Hong wanted to just ask some random man to help go into the toilet to ask the janitor out, but it was difficult to explain the situation, and we were running late for the second half of the show.
Just as we were feeling dejected, I noticed a janitor making her rounds outside the shops collecting thrash, and Hong raced after her to try our luck.
How delighted were we when she said she was the one who cleaned the female toilet, and had picked up the toy. She returned the set to us with a smile. I think she was happy to have placated two amusing ladies flustered over a toy. And we are definitely happy we met her.
I hope JJ will like the music set his mommy went lengths to recover, and make lotsa beautiful melodies in his life...
Today, I am also thankful for all the talent in theatre. Wicked was wickedly good!
I enjoyed the show.
