For the gift from Dubai. Yin told me that she only saw this camel in dubai after travelling 18 countries. The picture is pretty, ain't it?

Air-conditioning! Trying to breathe the sweltering 34/35 degC air is no joke, even though we know this is Singapore where there is only but summer and rainy.

the awesome company to Trainstopping. It was nice that the girls enjoyed the show as much as I did. We laughed so much that I felt a tinge of soreness in my throat after the show. After being ushered out of the theatre by the really serious actors (who played their part right to the last minute while we were in the chambers!), we had a slow strolled to Haato at Central for a quick sugar fix. *Happy*

Lunch @ Upper Thomson:
Crispy plain and Cheese Pratas, Chicken murtabak and Strawberry FieldsTM U.D.D.E.R.S. ice-cream
Dinner @ NEX (Complimentary of XH's generosity):
Seafood Ramen, Cold Tofu, succulent oyster bites, gyoza, and the wonderful company
Dessert @ Serangoon Central:
150 calories ice-cream cone, French fries, and more mindless chats of the birds and the monkeys (literally! Heh.)
All the wonderful food of the day made me pretty happy today, nevermind the calories.
And oh! There's a little bring home "gift" for the evening, thoughtfully from XH who said she just discovered this delightful snack the night before and enthusiastically wanted to share it with me (even though I told her I already knew of this sweet pastry before).
How sweet a darling, the girl!

the dinner with the daddies. The fact that the committed married men actually took time off keenly for the meet up was quite a cheer. We added brownie points to the day with an accidental discovery of the pretty palatable carrot cake at Medz.

Nice music. I am forever amazed by the music produced on the strings by good musicians. Came across this sunny little clip today, on a rainy Monday... and I cannot help but hum to the happy tune in my head. I like the colours on the video too. =)

getting to try out Paradise Inn at Thomson Plaza with the guys from US. The food is quite consistent with the other branches. At least the self-professing say-it-as-is-american viet guys were satisfied enough to say they enjoyed the lunch (and they get to pay with their Amex, after being refused payment by Tiger Airways for not having other credit cards. haha!).

being able to get to work today.
I was running a high fever at 2am last night, and I was pretty worried how I am going to hand over the new i-Pads sitting in my drawer to the taiwanese visitor who will be in the office today to collect them. After a pill, and some ice-sponging, I was miraculously okay enough to be back in the office by morning.
All the worrying about how to hand over my keys to who, and have the new iPads passed to the right persons, and (most importantly!) collect the right amount of money was unfounded. I later found out that the candidate whom I thought I might be able to hand the keys to so as to reach another colleague who knows the visitor was out-stationed today. (yes! It would have been that complicated.) That means my worrying and planning would and have been in vain.
The money was eventually safely deposited, the items handed to the right parties, and things fell into place despite a night of discomfort being the worrywart. I have to be thankful, and learn to be cooler in the face of heat.

being at the LTP today. No need to read emails, being fed a meal every few hours, talking and listening to the stories of different people, and being able to reach home by 6pm. All that, and minus the stress of having to be forced to say or do anything like in some other sessions we've had before, I would say it was quite an enjoyment.. Heh.

lotsa laughter shared among the girls tonight. Have not had a session like this in a super long while. We hang out till we were the last customers in the chi chi cafe, sipping tea, and sharing cakes. It was fun. And I'm happy.

Lunch was not at all great. I was totally not satisfied after the meal.
Am I not glad that there are boxes of afternoon snacks from Taiwan in the cube today?

the dinner session with Jeff. It has been a long time since we last caught up. Blink, and his son is turning one end of this month. Considering the preoccupations of any parent, I was happy that he would even agree to meet out!
It was fun listening to the narration of his various encounters with absurd people, and we got to check out Big Bad Wolf in the east. The food was mediocre. It was not as fancy as I'd seen on TV, and the choices few. Maybe people go there more for the gourmet beer. But Jeff was driving, so no drinking.
We almost met with an accident on the way back to the North East as an old man sprang out of nowhere into the road, and nonchalantly (!) sauntered into the path of the vehicle that was gaining speed towards the expressway. Were we not glad that there was no injuries, as our heart throbbed all the way into and out of KPE.
Thankful! Thankful!
